Show News
Week of March 10–15
Dance Videos are Posted!
Just like the music and guide vocals, student actors should be reviewing the dance videos that we post on the show website under RESOURCES. Reviewing and practicing with the music and videos are the show "homework." Please support your kids by getting them onto the website to watch their dance videos and music and practice at home. Thank you!
Parent Volunteers Needed
I need at least two adults at every evening and weekend rehearsal going forward as Backstage Monitors. I've updated the Parent Sign Up and I am asking every family to volunteer -- early and often!
In addition -- we need a LOT OF HELP on Saturday, March 15th, for our Costume "Dress Parade." Please contact Mrs. Zeitler at Bekki.Zeitler@gmail.com if you can help this coming Saturday.
We have the same families volunteering for multiple jobs over and over, and we need everyone to step up. Please...
Host a Cookie Break!
Our kids work hard during rehearsal and crew calls, and nothing helps them recharge and boosts morale more than Cookie Break! If you'd like to host a cookie break for our remaining rehearsals please sign up here. We can also use help with treats for students with food sensitivities. Let me know if you can help to make sure we remain an inclusive environment.
Weekday Rehearsal Dinners
A number of our students (cast and crew) hang out in aftercare right up to rehearsal. To help those families, we offer "You Buy, I Fly" dinner pickup at local restaurants. Each week I'll announce the restaurant selection for dinner. Parents will have until 4:30pm to place a prepaid order at the restaurant for pickup. When ordered, please send me a REMIND text that your child has an order for pickup. Either I or a parent volunteer will pick up those meals by 5:00pm and deliver to school for a 5:30pm dinner prior to rehearsal. We've done this for several years and our families really appreciate the help. Here's the schedule for this week. PLEASE CHECK THE LOCATION BEFORE ORDERING. NO DRINKS PLEASE. (Shakes are OK.)
Monday, March 10 -- Noodles & Company, 20952 Frederick Road, Germantown
Tuesday, March 11 -- Chick-Fil-A, Germantown Center, 19945 Century Blvd, Germantown, MD
Thursday, March 13 -- Panera Bread, 20680 Seneca Meadows Parkway, Germantown, MD
Parents - If you are willing to help me with pickups, please send me an email.
LAST CALL - Program ADs and Shout-Outs
Monday, March 10 is the HARD DEADLINE Shout-outs and Program Ads. We can still accept Directors Circle Sponsorships for another few days. All links below are also on the front page of the MoN Musical Theatre website and the Theatre page of the MON School Website.

Attendance/Conflicts
A reminder that we expect parents to keep to the conflicts we agreed to at the beginning of rehearsals. At this point, students are expected to attend every rehearsal unless they are ill, have an unforeseen emergency, or have an 8th grade/high school related mandatory activity. Please do not assume that we know about any of these activities. Let us know immediately about any of these events that conflict with rehearsal.
MoN's theatre program is arguably the most time and talent intensive activity this school sponsors and it takes a small army to put on a show. Thanks to all of you for your unflagging support!
Warmly,
Mrs. Stone
GENERAL REHEARSAL NOTES:
* Every Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the MPR - bring lunch. Rehearsals will run longer + evening rehearsals as we near Opening Night.
* Smaller group rehearsals (both staging and music) and some crew calls are held mid-week
* Cast: wear comfy clothes/shoes . Bring your script, pencil with eraser, highlighter, and water bottle to all rehearsals.
* Crew: wear clothes that can get messy.
* For weekday rehearsals, if your child plans to attend Extended Care program, they must be registered - please see the information here - it is required by the school.
REMINDERS:
1) Students are not allowed to wait for rehearsal in classrooms, the KFC, or outside of MoN after school. Please have students sign into aftercare if they will be waiting at school for mid-week rehearsals. (A member of the Production Team will sign students out.) Students are expected to follow all aftercare rules.
2) Do not come to rehearsal if you are sick, tested positive for COVID, or any under condition that would keep you out of school. Please email us if you will be absent (monmusicaltheatre@gmail.com), and feel better soon. Sickness is always and excused absence.
3) Certain rehearsals and crew calls are mandatory. Snow/sick days make timing extra tight, so we REALLY need you when you are called.
4) Volunteers Needed (must be Virtus cleared if with students). Saturdays are busy rehearsal and crew days. If you can stay and help out at rehearsals or crew, even if only for part of the time, a sign up will soon be available. Thank you! SignUp here to help on Saturdays!
*** Please check 'Schedule' Tab often as cast and crew calls are added weekly. Double check the notes to see if ALL CAST or only select characters are called.
